Error Bounds and Variational Methods for Non-linear Differential and Integral Equations

Error bounds for non-linear differential and integral equations are derived from the theory of complementary variational principles. The results are illustrated by the Liouville and PoissonBoltzmann equations and by a non-linear integral equation which arises in communication theory.
