The Irreducible Representations of 2p-pole Linear Lagrangian Systems

Necessary and sufficient conditions for a 2p-pole linear Lagrangian system to be reducible are obtained. Furthermore for such reducible systems the procedure for constructing a transformation matrix which generates an equivalent, irreducible 2p-pole linear Lagrangian system is indicated.
